YOMPOSAUR V-REX-No1 - WHO OR WHAT IS V-REX?

Inspired by WW2 US aircraft, nose art, the cool morale boosting cartoon mascots, hand painted onto the fuselage of fighting aircraft. I wanted to create my own for YOMP NOTES. Stand-by because here comes YOMPOSAUR V-REX-Mk1?

Looking like the bastard love child of a Velociraptor and a Tyrannosaurus Rex (V-REX) he’s Quick, Mean, Bad, Beautiful and very short tempered so despite the toothy grin, he'll snap your head off just for kicks n tricks : )

THE DESIGN PROCESS:

THE ORIGINAL SKETCH - IVE ENHANCED THE SCAN SO YOU CAN SEE IT BETTER 

The design you see today came about by accident. While I was waiting for something to process on my computer I picked up a pen, as I always do and started to doddle and what came of that was a rough sketch, of a dinosaur like animal kicking a door in, I thought… I like this, scanned it in and eventually after weeks of tweeking and re-drawing I ended up with the fine fellow you see today.

As mentioned earlier, I’ve always had a respect for WW2 US aircraft Nose art and I'm really happy that I’ve created something similar for the YOMP NOTES blog. Something that is more of a gift and an embellishment. A brand that says “Yep I’m this gnarly while supporting the blog and embodies the ethos:

BUT WHY A DINOSAUR?

I talk about why I chose a dinosaur as a logo for YOMP NOTES (HERE) For this project I wanted to build on the corporate, straight-up, simple T Rex silhouette, that I still like and will continue to use but also create something more unique to YOMP NOTES. Moving forward his has given me the idea for a series of stickers, patches, teeshirts etc featuring other varients of the YOMPOSAURS, a YOMPOSAUR for all and featuring your favourite Dinosaurs.

COVID DILEMMA
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I’ve had to close my original business for the durasion but no crying into my Corn Flakes here. As I already make a few dollars from links and clicks I thought I’d try and up the anti by offering some merch, YOMPOSAUR V-REX is a new stage in that process, I hope you like it.
