STANDARD DELUX No41 T/Shirts (Design Brief)
The STANDARD DELUX No41/ is a clean, simple bold and in-there-face design to clearly promote the YOMP NOTES mission out in the real world. Mostly while I’m Rucking Hiking, Running, at work, at the bar or out on my bike doing courier duties.
This is the second design I’ve created for this purpose the first being; THE MIGHTY YOMP CORP JERSEY No22 which I’m still wearing to this day, the difference is that design was just for me to wear, mostly cos I didn’t think anyone else would.

Completely by accident the STANDARD DELUX design works well with a multiple of color-ways and/or nation flags, holiday celebrations and commemoration themes, I have to say this was not an intended outcome for the design but welcome never-the-less.
The V1 color-way however is black gold and white, this being mostly influenced by The Fighting 31st Felix The Cat mascot! but also the original Batman logo, The 1st Air Cav shoulder badge, Mongoose BMX, Daffy Duck and SkyWay Campagnolo Graphite Tuff wheels! All subjects, comic books, sports, cartoon characters and bike components that I’ve had a passion for or have spiked my interest through-out my life.
For me the V1 black and gold represents hope and despair or rather hope from despair. A reminder to myself, as much as anyone; that while there is life there is hope and life is always right.
The STANDARD DELUX No41 is a confident and simple design, solidly based around the YOMP NOTES LEAPING YOMPOSAUR morale mascot. Basically that’s all you get, cos that’s all you need. A message to the world that;
“In the Pursuit of Awesome, Speed & Courage Get it Done”.
WHO OR WHAT IS THE LEAPING YOMPOSAUR?
As I said earlier, the main focus of this design, actually the only focus is the LEAPING YOMPOSAUR moral mascot.
It’s taken me about two years (on and off) to design and develop the YOMPOSAUR. My very own moral mascot for the YOMP NOTES mission but here he is; Looking like the bastard love child of a V’raptor and a T’Rex, YOMPOSAUR is quick, mean, bad, beautiful and short tempered so despite that toothy grin, he'll snap the head off the competition just for kicks n tricks : )
I’m happy to admit that this design has two main sources of inspiration. The first comes from my old days in BMX and the Mongoose BMX brand. I found this logo really motivating as I embarked on my BMX career, back in the 80s, as a racers as well a Freestyle rider.
The second inspiration comes from WW2 US aircraft nose art. The cool morale boosting cartoon mascots, painted onto the fuselage of fighting aircraft, most notably The Fighting 31st Felix The Cat!
So there we have it, the STANDARD DELUX No41.
