MAXPEDITION - C.A.P. Compact Admin Pouch - A.G.R. Advanced Gear Research
There’s a lot of organiser type pouches on the market these days especially with China and far eastern made-up brands coming to the party with their knock-offs, copies, fakes and counterfeit offerings.
The up-side of this is that the originators of this niche have to up their game so their gear has better design has more practical detail, invention and therefore makes their gear tuff to copy and rip-off!
With this in mind, I give you the - C.A.P. (Compact Admin Pouch) from MAXPEDITION A.G.R. Advanced Gear Research.

This range of MAXPEDITION gear was launched back in 2016 at about the time I estd YOMP NOTES. As such the C.A.P. (Compact Admin Pouch) by MAXPEDITION was one of my first experiments to add EDC admin detail to a GORUCK. Of course I had to go off and try other ideas including using as a carry all pouch for my P.S.K. Personal Survival Kit.
Over the year I've tried other pouches from other manufactures for the EDC admin role but really I didn’t need to bother, the C.A.P. fit the bill first time and this is the reason I’ve gone back to it.
HOW DID I WANT TO USE THE MAXPEDITION C.A.P.
Basically I wanted to add admin to my GORUCK GR1 by attaching an EDC admin pouch inside.
There’s an auxiliary shock cord loop to the back and center of the pouch, ready to clip and secure small finicky gear that you really do not want to loose.
This pouch does not open flat making it difficult for me to photograph : ) but it does make it a really useful pouch for my intended use. When out and about working I can prop my ruck up against a table leg, unzip and access from above and see everything I have with me, just like a small tool bag. Gear can be pulled out, used, thrown back to be reorganised later and if anything falls out is it lost? nope it’s in the bottom of the pouch.
IN CONCLUSION THEN
Generally the MAXPEDITION C.A.P. and indeed all the AGR collection have nice futuristic, SciFi vibe to them, looking like gear an Imperial StormTrooper could be issued.
The design, attention to detail especially with regard to quality of materials and production, right down to strength of thread that’s used to hold this excellent pouch together are second to none and equal to only a few.
So if it’s for your daily commute or conquering the known universe the MAXPEDITION C.A.P. Always has your back.
HOW DID I WANT TO USE THE MAXPEDITION C.A.P.

Basically I wanted to add admin to my GORUCK GR1 by attaching an EDC admin pouch inside.
I see my EDC carry as having two constituent parts; the admin pouch for my tools, cables, power packs etc and the bag to carry it in. This obviously gives me the capacity I need to carry other day-to-day gear, such as; Coffee, shopping and outer layers etc. In this way the EDC admin, in theory can be removed and strapped into other bags, if needs be.
THE MAXPEDITION C.A.P. IN DETAIL.
OUTSIDE
The Maxpedition C.A.P. is a really nicely proportioned pouch being; 7.5” high, 5” wide and 2.5” deep. This is then divided up into 2 compartment’s both accessed with 2 way, YKK zippers.
To the front of the pouch there’s a 2 column x 3 rows of 840D Nylon-TPU composite MOLLE field, beautifully reenforced to the main body of the pouch with, (I think) circular bartacks.
The main material for the front of the pouch looks like a custom hexagonal rip-stop fabric that looks very cool and futuristic, I like this a lot.
The main body of the pouch is 1000D ballistic nylon.

The main body of the pouch is 1000D ballistic nylon.
To the back theres a second 2 columns x 5 rows MOLLE field for attaching to belts and packs using 2 MAXPEDITION TacTie Polymer MOLLE clips.
This most excellent pouch has a really nice grab handle and 2 substantial D-rings, left and right, giving you shoulder strap and more mounting options.
The MAXPEDITION C.A.P. has 2 compartment so there’s 2 decent drainage grommets to the base of this beautifully over spec pouch.
INSIDE
The MAXPEDITION C.A.P. has a really nice grey interior making it much easer to spot gear in lowlight. The fabric looks like another custom for MAXPEDITION, featuring a ‘Hex’ & ‘M’ holographic logo pattern, an anti counterfeit device I suspect and beautiful for all that.

The first compartment to the front of the pouch is accessed by a duel zipper and opens out revelling heavy duty elastic retention, ranging in size: small, medium, large and larger.

The first being a good size for a pen, the last for a good sized folder. Behind the retainers is a keyclip and slip pocket, just the right size for a Pass Port or Field Notes note book.
This config is mirrored of the other side compartment with execution of the slip pocket etc.

The second compartment is deeper than the first, it has 2 slip pockets of similar dimensions to the front compartment. There’s 2 Xlarge elastic retainers for more bulk items.
